On Dec. 6, to celebrate the closing of Nao Bustamante’s BLOOM, professor/scholars Jennifer Doyle (University of California, Riverside) and Jeanne Vaccaro (University of Kansas) will lead a curatorial tour of the exhibition.
Doyle and Vaccaro are the co-curators of Scientia Sexualis, a new exhibition at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. Open through March 2, 2025, the ambitious group survey features contemporary artists whose work confronts, dissolves, and reimagines sex and gender within the scientific apparatus, including Bustamante's Vagnasium installation.
Jeanne Vaccaro is a scholar and curator of contemporary art and public practice. Jennifer Doyle is the author of Hold It Against Me: Difficulty and Emotion in Contemporary Art, and Shadow of My Shadow. Doyle and Vaccaro are also co-editors of the Scientia Sexualis exhibition catalogue.
